Your Friday round up of things I have been enjoying this week. Maybe you will like them too
Something to watch
You may already have stumbled upon Colin From Accounts on iPlayer, but if not it could be just the tonic you have been searching for.
This quirky, modern, Aussie comedy about two flawed and funny humans whose meet-cute involves a boob flash and a car accident is the perfect antidote to the hell-in-a-handcart way the world feels right now. It’s sweet and clever with just the right amount of cringey moments. Think Catastrophe meets The Let Down, minus anything to do with having babies.
Something to think about
What’s your Rich Life?
I’ve been doing a deep dive into finances over the past few weeks, trying to be a sensible business owner with a longer term plan for what I’m doing and where I am going. A lot of this involves mindset work, especially money mindset. Which also involves a fair amount of manifesting and woo woo vibes, which I love but I appreciate isn’t for everyone.
One concept that’s accessible and pragmatic is Ramit Sethi’s “Rich Life” (my other watch this week has been How To Get Rich on Netflix).
It doesn’t have to be private jets and designer handbags (although it absolutely could be if that’s what *you* want). A rich life might be working a three-day week so you can devote whole days to writing a book or going for walks and taking naps.
It might be a 2pm finish every day so you can pick up your children from school.
It might be downsizing your home and expenses so that you can reduce your outgoings and start enjoying your life instead of waiting until retirement to do so. Or increasing your earnings exponentially so you can finally start that business/charity/trust fund.
So, I invite you to ponder what your rich life looks like. What does that term mean to you? What would make you feel like you have lived a good life that you can look back on with no regrets? What would make you feel like you have made the most of your one wild and precious life?
